ā€œWhat does Cochrane Sings mean to me? Plain and simple JOY and HAPPINESS. I decided when I retired that I would do things that make me happy. Music had been a big thing in my life growing up. My father was a self-taught musician. He could play any instrument just by picking it up, feeling it and playing it. He bought me a beautiful blue hummingbird guitar that I loved immensely and just by watching my dad I learned to do simple chords and started discovering that I enjoyed singing as well. As an adult in retirement, I learned to play the ukelele and any time I could I would get up and do karaoke and remember feeling how happy it made me inside. I vowed to myself if I ever had an opportunity to join a choir as an adult and lo and behold, Cochrane Sings came into my life. We sing in a church with fairly good acoustics and sometimes I get goosebumps because not only do we collectively sound outstanding but because I feel so lucky to have found an amazing like-minded group of singers (coming from all walks of life in a church to make beautiful music together. ) Lee Ann DeCoteau leads our group and starts by loosening us up and helping us letting go of all the cares and responsibilities of the world and packs an incredible repertoire of songs that are both inspiring and hopeful. For 2 hours we have been transported into sheer happiness. I am so very lucky that Cochrane sings is a large part of my focus for HAPPINESS and JOY. ā€œ ~Fay D

Being in this choir heals the soul. It raises your vibration to such a positive state. I always leave in such a good mood! LeeAnn does such a good job leading us to sing our best. ~ Nicole S.

Cochrane Sings is a fun and nourishing space. The energy of the director, Lee Ann, filters out into the whole choir and makes for a positive experience.~Cassandra N

This choir is phenomenal. Lee Ann is great at explaining the music to various levels seamlessly. For example, if you know what a time signature is that's great but if you don't know what that is then it's fine. You will learn to get the "feel" of the music. We received sheet music which was very helpful. However, you do not need to know how to read music. You can dive into the music theory as much or as little as you want. The group is extremely friendly and inviting. The songs are contemporary. There is also an app that you can use to listen to the music you will be working on. You can hear the line you are going to sing a bit louder than the rest of the music so that you can practice your part. The amount of support you receive is great. I can't recommend this highly enough. It's great for people who want to perform or if you are just looking to get out of the house once a week and meet new people. Give it a shot know matter what your level may be. ~ Kodie
